Victorian government schools can now apply for the latest round of the Capital Works Fund (CWF), with the state government committing $25.4 million to support school building and infrastructure upgrades across the state.
The funding program, which is currently open and closes on 12 June 2026, provides grants of up to $600,000 for projects designed to improve learning environments, enhance school facilities, and create more inclusive spaces for students.
The Victorian Government has also announced the latest 24 schools to receive funding through the initiative, continuing a program that has become a key source of support for smaller-scale capital projects that may not be covered through larger infrastructure programs.
Since 2024, 146 schools have received grants through the Capital Works Fund. The government says it has invested $75.4 million into the program to date.
The fund is aimed at addressing priority needs within school communities, helping schools upgrade facilities, improve the condition of buildings and grounds, and deliver projects that support student wellbeing and inclusion.
The 2026–27 State Budget allocated $25.4 million to the latest funding round. Funding is available across three grant categories:
Small Priority Projects offers grants of up to $150,000 and can be used for renovations and improvements to existing learning spaces.
Student Inclusion Projects provides up to $350,000 for initiatives that support students with disabilities or additional needs. Eligible projects include the development of inclusive playgrounds and upgrades that make indoor and outdoor learning environments more accessible and welcoming.
Larger Priority Projects offers grants of up to $600,000 for higher-priority infrastructure works, including projects focused on improving the condition and functionality of school buildings and grounds.
