Building on the insights of national edtech surveys conducted in 2019 and 2020, Promethean has launched the new State of Technology in Education Report 2021.
The report reveals how edtech trends and opinions are developing across a series of important topics within the education agenda including schools’ strategic priorities, budgets, staff training, use of technology, remote learning and the future of edtech.
To truly gauge how technology is being used in the classroom, the State of Technology in Education survey gave teachers, school leaders and IT managers from across Australia the chance to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences.
Key findings from the State of Technology in Education Report 2021 include:
● 60 per cent of teachers believe that students learn best in the classroom
● 74 per cent of respondents identified technology as a priority in their school strategy, compared to 66 per cent the previous year
● 2 per cent of teachers agreed that staff receive full training and support for edtech – down 5 per cent compared to the previous year
● 58 per cent of teachers stated that they were available for contact outside of teaching hours, compared to just 14 per cent the year before.
On top of equipping school leaders and policymakers with accurate insights which will support effective decision-making and positive educational outcomes, the report aims to start conversations about the support that schools and teachers really need.
