The National Education Summit Melbourne is set to return bigger and better than ever, with registrations up 92 per cent on last year.

Taking place Thursday 28 – Friday 29 August at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, organisers say this year’s event promises to be an unmissable opportunity to connect, learn, and walk away inspired.

“After a demanding few years, educators are craving opportunities to step out of the classroom, connect face to face, and reignite their passion for teaching,” IEC Group, which organises the summit, said.

“This event offers exactly that — a chance to collaborate, discover fresh ideas, and return to school with renewed energy and practical strategies. Plus, attending the summit will count toward your professional development hours, making it a valuable experience both personally and professionally.”

At the heart of the summit is The Education Show, a free expo where educators can explore the latest innovations in teaching tools, technology, and classroom resources.

“This is their chance to touch, test, and try the newest products making waves in the education space, directly from leading brands and solution providers,” IEC Group said.

This year’s summit introduces new free activations, designed to support the wellbeing, development, and engagement of educators:

  • Free Seminars: Attend expert-led sessions covering everything from curriculum innovation to inclusive teaching practices. Choose your own adventure across the Knowledge Centre and Classroom of the Future programs.
  • Round Table Discussions: Dive deep into timely topics with innovative educators in dynamic, small-group settings. Ask questions, share your insights, and walk away with actionable ideas.
  • Social Snap Station: Stop by for a free professional headshot or a fun team photo to mark the occasion.
  • Networking Lounge: A dedicated space to take a breather and connect with like-minded educators and exhibitors.
  • The Chill Zone (hosted by Fiona Sullivan of Samuda Creative Consulting): Recharge in a serene, nature-inspired space with guided breathing sessions, yoga flows, and creativity boosters from 9:30am–3:30pm daily.
  • Book Signing Nook: Meet some of Australia’s most inspiring education thought-leaders, purchase their books, and have your copies signed (selfies encouraged).

The exhibition floor will also feature interactive experiences, live demos, competitions, giveaways, and more, including:

  • Mindflight 7: Step inside a VR world with the Anatomy Lab, Career Compass, and more.
  • Canine Comprehension: Meet therapy dogs Gruffalo and Maisey and see dog-assisted learning in action.
  • Apsis VR: Try their escape room experiences and claim expo-only discounts.
  • Code Club: See live student coding projects in action.
  • The Sensory Specialist: Test classroom-friendly sensory tools – and pick up a free stress ball.
  • TransformUs: See live demonstrations and win prizes ranging from comprehensive teacher packs to whole school professional learning opportunities
  • Yakult Australia: Spin the wheel for prizes, explore the virtual factory tour, and pick up ready-to-use classroom materials.

“Whether you’re looking to discover new tools, earn PD hours, or simply reignite your passion for teaching, the National Education Summit Melbourne offers it all — for free,” IEC Group said.
