Australia’s leading conference for educators makes its highly anticipated return in 2023 to offer three days of exceptional professional learning.

For over 16 years the Thinking & Learning Conference proudly hosted by Hawker Brownlow Education, has been synonymous with the most innovative professional learning in Australia. The 2023 conference, which opens from 18-20 May 2023 at Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse, promises to be no different but after a challenging few years, it brings the added excitement of reconnecting Australia’s educator community face-to-face.

General Manager of Hawker Brownlow Education, Caroline Hartley, said the 2023 conference marks a welcome return as schools emerge from an extended period of disrupted learning. “The last two years have posed unprecedented challenges for educators, school leaders and students. Educators are presented with opportunities to combine their recent experience of shifting practice with reflective observations and a strong foundation of evidence and research that informs how education can meet the changing needs of their students. Our 2023 conference program is focused on supporting schools’ educational transformation goals.”

The three-day conference presents a line-up of prominent educational leaders from Australia and across the globe, who will share their ground-breaking work across a flexible program of thought-provoking sessions.

Conference sessions cover leadership, student agency, wellbeing, assessment, professional learning communities, literacy and data among other current topics that will arm educators with the latest strategies to transform teaching and learning within their schools.

Speakers include:

Adrian Bertolini (STEM Learning)
Anthony Muhammad (PLC, Culture)
Janelle McGann (live) and Carol Tomlinson (virtual) (Differentiation)
Douglas Reeves (Leadership)
Fiona Forman (Wellbeing)
Gavin Grift (Middle Leadership)
Glen Pearsall (Classroom Management, Instruction)
James Anderson (Growth Mindset)
Janelle Wills (Thinking, Teacher Development, Student Engagement)
Kathy Tuchman Glass (Literacy)
Lee Crockett (Student Agency)
Margaret Merga (Literacy Policy)
Selena Fisk (Analysing and Using Data)
Spencer Kagan (Cooperative Learning)
Tim Patston (Creativity)

Hawker Brownlow Education’s ongoing goal is simple: to bring the best in educational learning to Australia. The 2023 Thinking & Learning Conference allows educators to build a schedule that suits their own professional learning, and which inspires academic achievement and lifelong learning in their students.

Early bird registration is now open and educational professionals who register before 1 March 2023 will receive discounted rates across the three-day program on individual and group registrations. Registrations are open at hbe.com.au
