New South Wales will showcase its global education technology (EdTech) credentials this week, with two major events expected to attract thousands of educators while highlighting an industry that generates $1.7 billion in annual revenue and supports more than 8,200 jobs across the state.
Sydney will host the NSW EdTech Summit from 1–2 June 2026, followed by EDUtech Australia from 3–4 June at the International Convention Centre Sydney. Together, the events will bring more than 10,000 attendees and 400 international delegates to the city, providing a platform to promote NSW’s education technology capabilities and strengthen international investment and export opportunities.
“New South Wales is proud to be home to one of Australia’s strongest EdTech ecosystems, and these events are a powerful showcase of the innovation happening right here in our state,” said Investment NSW Deputy Secretary Ms Rebecca McPhee.
Ms McPhee said the events would connect educators, entrepreneurs and industry leaders from around Australia and overseas to share ideas, build partnerships and explore how technology is transforming education.
“Through our NSW Trade and Investment Strategy, we are focused on growing high-value industries like EdTech, supporting businesses to export, and strengthening NSW’s global partnerships,” she said.
The combined events come as NSW continues to position itself as a leader in education technology, with around 300 EdTech companies operating across the state. The sector generates approximately $530 million in exports annually and is regarded as one of Australia’s largest and most diverse EdTech ecosystems.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience live technology demonstrations, hear from international thought leaders and explore emerging innovations designed to improve student outcomes, enhance teaching practice and prepare learners for the future workforce.
Ms McPhee said the events demonstrated why NSW was becoming an increasingly attractive destination for education innovation and investment.
“These events highlight why NSW is a global destination for education and innovation – connecting our world-class institutions, cutting-edge technology and international networks to deliver real benefits for students, educators and the economy,” she said.
The NSW Government is delivering the NSW EdTech Summit in partnership with education providers, while Study NSW is a sponsor of EDUtech Australia through to 2027 as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s leadership position across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner will also support the visitor experience by offering EDUtech delegates discounts at eateries and entertainment venues in Sydney’s Chippendale precinct.
The events align with the NSW Trade and Investment Strategy, which identifies digital technologies and international education as key opportunities for economic diversification, export growth and workforce development.
