With the 2020 Tokyo Games just around the corner there’s no better time to meet some of the amazing Aussie athletes aiming for gold.

This term’s Be Your Greatest virtual classroom series brought to you by Australian Beef features a range of athletes who will be competing in the upcoming Tokyo Games, accompanied by MasterChef alumni Matt Sinclair. Students will learn how to fuel their bodies with delicious and easy to prepare meals so they can Be Their Greatest.

With school incursions and excursions only just back on track, or under the microscope in terms of health and safety requirements, the Be Your Greatest virtual classroom series is the savvy teacher’s first choice for an inspirational and educational, curriculum-linked experience. Don’t worry, no cooking in the classroom required!

Be Your Greatest presenter and teacher Katey Street says the sessions are great for encouraging active participation:

‘There is a constant stream of communication between the kitchen and the classroom, allowing students to be part of the action by discussing their ideas and experiences. Having their questions answered and setting challenges to be continued post-session keeps them constantly engaged.’

Created by teachers for teachers, the sessions, facilitated by a qualified teacher are interactive and feature a live Q&A function whereby participating classes can ask questions to their sporting heroes in real time!

King of the kitchen Matt Sinclair shares his MasterChef skills as he takes students through easy and delicious recipes featuring the nation’s favourite protein, fresh Aussie Beef. Students will learn how to balance a plate with the right nutrition to fuel their bodies! Previous meals include Mighty Beef Meatballs and Sizzling Beef Sliders. All recipes are included in the Best Your Greatest recipe book, available to download at the end of Term 2.

Paralympian Scott Reardon loves chatting to students about how he stays fit and active, as well as the challenges he has faced as an elite athlete:

‘The virtual classroom is great fun to be a part of. I love how we can take this program to all of Australia, not just the kids in metro areas. It’s awesome to be able to share my journey with the kids and chat to them about how they can achieve greatness in their own lives.’

This term, the Be Your Greatest Virtual Classrooms series returns. Book now and inspire your students to Be Their Greatest!

Term 2, 2021 sessions:

11am and 2pm session each day (AEST)

  • 19th & 20th May
  • 16th & 17th June

There are also plenty of student-friendly meals on the Australian Beef website: <australianbeef.com.au/recipes> that kids can make at home with their families…or at school if you’re feeling brave!

So let’s inspire every student to Be Their Greatest. Join us in the kitchen and cheer on our Aussie athletes as they prepare for the Tokyo Games and one of the biggest challenges of their lives!

This virtual classroom series is sponsored by Australian Beef as the Official Team Partner of Australia’s 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Teams.
