A new national initiative is set to position Australian secondary schools at the forefront of contemporary learning and student empowerment.
The Australian Secondary Principals’ Association (ASPA), in partnership with Young Change Agents (YCA), has announced the launch of the Entrepreneurial Schools Project – a fully funded, two-year program designed to accelerate student agency and build future-focused learning models across the country.
Valued at $50,000 per school, the program provides principals and school teams with coaching, professional learning, and access to the Entrepreneurial Learning Hub, valued at $10,000 per year. Participating schools will join a national network of demonstration sites, contributing to research, sharing best practice, and showcasing innovative approaches to learning.
Through collaboration with experienced educators and industry leaders, the project supports schools to connect learning to real-world contexts, strengthen student voice and agency, and develop capabilities for lifelong learning and civic contribution.
The initiative is fully funded through contributions from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation, Young Change Agents, and ASPA, with no program fee for participating schools. (Schools are only responsible for travel and casual relief teacher costs associated with professional learning events.)
An information session will be held on 30 October 2025 from 1:30–2:30 pm (AEDT), providing an overview of the opportunity, selection criteria, support model, and program timeline. Schools unable to attend can access the presentation materials online afterward.
Expressions of Interest are now open for secondary schools nationwide.
