The National Education Summit is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 Teacher Awards — a celebration dedicated to recognising the educators who go above and beyond to inspire, innovate, and lead in the classroom and beyond.

These awards shine a spotlight on the passionate, creative, and dedicated teachers who are making a real impact in the lives of their students and their wider school communities. Whether they’re reimagining the classroom experience or leading with heart and purpose, these are the educators helping to shape the future of education.

In 2025, educators can be nominated in two categories:

Innovation in Teaching – Celebrating teachers who bring fresh, engaging, and original ideas to their teaching practice. These educators use creativity, technology, and student-first strategies to make learning more dynamic and meaningful. From project-based learning to inclusive teaching models, they’re the ones driving new ways to connect with and inspire students.

Outstanding Leadership – Honouring teachers who lead with vision, commitment, and care. This category recognises educators who build strong school cultures, mentor and support their colleagues, and guide their communities through change and growth. They lead by example and lift those around them.

“These awards celebrate the heart of our education system – our teachers,” says Ms Margo Metcalf, from the National Education Summit. “Every day, we see educators doing extraordinary things, and this is our chance to highlight their stories and thank them for the impact they make.”

Nominations are now open, with winners to be announced and celebrated at the National Education Summit events in Brisbane on 31 July and Melbourne on 28 August.

If you know a teacher who’s making a real difference, this is the time to help shine a light on their work. Nominate a teacher today and help spotlight excellence in education.
