Two educators have been recognised for their impact on teaching and school leadership at the 2026 National Education Summit in Brisbane, with awards highlighting innovation in the classroom and excellence in educational leadership.

Mrs Andra Janse Van Rensburg, a Teacher at OneSchool Global Maitland, NSW, took out the Innovation in Teaching Award, while Ms Erin Caceda, Principal of Allegra School in Coffs Harbour, NSW, received the Outstanding Leadership Award.

The Innovation in Teaching Award recognises educators who demonstrate creative teaching methods, adapt to diverse learning needs, integrate technology effectively and deliver measurable improvements in student outcomes.

Mrs Rensburg was recognised for her passion, creativity and commitment to student learning, with judges acknowledging her ability to make learning engaging and empowering for students.

In a statement following the award, OneSchool Global Regional Principal Mr Travis Hopgood congratulated Mrs Rensburg on the achievement.

“OneSchool Global is so fortunate to have educators like Andra who are dedicated to supporting their students get the very best outcomes in the classroom and beyond,” he said.

“This award is a recognition of her passion and commitment to quality education – but evidence of Mrs Rensburg’s excellence isn’t just in accolades.

“We can also see it in her results, with eight of her students receiving First in Course in NSW HSC Financial Services.”

Mrs Rensburg said the key to her success was making learning fun for her students and empowering them to take charge of their learning.

“I am so grateful to receive this award and I would also like to thank OneSchool Global for providing the learning environment in which educators are supported to be innovative and creative,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Outstanding Leadership Award recognised Ms Caceda for her contribution to school leadership, student success and staff development.

The award celebrates leaders who demonstrate vision and innovation, build collaborative school cultures and contribute to advancing the teaching profession. It also acknowledges leaders who inspire and empower staff and students, while fostering strong community engagement and supporting school development initiatives.

“Erin leads our incredible team with enthusiasm, passion, vision, compassion, pride and professionalism – the list could go on forever. More than that, she is also a friend and mentor to so many,” Allegra School said on social media.

“Her care and dedication towards the students at Allegra is evident every single day through her approachable nature and open-door policy.
