Ms Louise Barnott-Clement, Principal of Ambarvale High School, has been recognised in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours for her service to NSW public education.
Ms Barnott-Clements is widely recognised for her compassionate and transformative leadership, where she champions equity, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
Her student-centred approach has earned admiration across school networks. She is also highly regarded for her ability to identify and nurture emerging leaders, playing a key role in the Camden Network Aspiring Leaders initiative and mentoring over 100 future school leaders.
NSW Department of Education Secretary Mr Murat Dizdar praised Ms Barnott-Clements as an inspiration of the impact public educators can have.
“This award recognises not just personal achievements, but the lifelong influence educators have on their students and communities,” Mr Dizdar said.
“Ms Barnott-Clements is a role model for the profession and shows how a career in education can lead to remarkable outcomes.”
Also nominated this year were Directors, Educational Leadership Ms Maria Serafim and Ms Jason Miezis, PDHPE teacher Mr Darren Horgan, and Director School Recruitment and Placement Ms Leah Anderson.
“What unites these individuals is their unwavering dedication to improving student outcomes – whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, or through system-wide leadership,” he said.
“Their passion and commitment reflect the values of public education and serve as an inspiration to us all. I warmly congratulate each of them on their nominations.”
