More than 8,500 new Chromebooks will be delivered to ACT public schools next year in a major technology upgrade aimed at strengthening digital learning and supporting day-to-day teaching across the Territory.
The ACT Education Directorate has selected the ASUS 12.2” Flip/Touch Chromebook (CR1204F) for deployment in 2026, following a significant tender that will see every device arrive fully configured, classroom-ready and backed by comprehensive support.
According to ASUS, the rollout reflects an ongoing commitment to ensuring students have access to durable, high-performance devices that can withstand the demands of modern schooling.
The Chromebook chosen for the project includes reinforced casing, a garaged stylus and a flexible flip design, making it suitable for both collaborative and independent learning.
Each unit will also come with a three-year next business day on-site service warranty, ASUS repair coverage and battery support to minimise downtime across campuses.
ASUS Head of Commercial, Mr Leon Brumen, said the initiative is designed to deliver reliable, long-term value for ACT classrooms.
“By integrating ASI’s expertise with ASUS’ industry-leading products, service and warranty, we guarantee students reliable, high-quality devices essential for supporting their learning outcomes,” he said. “ASUS is committed to ensuring this initiative profoundly benefits thousands of ACT students.”
ASI Solutions is overseeing the deployment process, including configuration, staging and ongoing support to ensure schools receive devices that are ready for immediate use. Director Mr Justin Lowe said the company’s role is focused on reducing administrative pressure on school staff and ensuring a smooth rollout across the Territory.
“Devices are precisely configured and ready for immediate deployment, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to enhancing educational outcomes across the ACT,” Mr Lowe said. “This partnership showcases the value of our combined capabilities in managing the lifecycle of devices at scale.”
The 2026 deployment is expected to further strengthen the ACT’s digital learning infrastructure and lay the groundwork for future large-scale education technology tenders, with the benefits set to flow directly to students and teachers in public schools across the Territory.
